Indoor 2024/25

Registration Opens August 1 – registration continues through the entire month of August. To register your child / children starting August 1, registration website.

Incomplete Registrations After September 6, 2024 – players will be placed on the waitlist pending space on a team. Please contact the office to be placed on the waitlist.

Once teams are formed (2-3 weeks after registration closes) Parents will receive a TeamSnap Invite to join their child(ern) team.

SWEMSA offers community indoor soccer for girls and boys in programs from U5 to U19.

Playing in a fully boarded pitch (like a hockey rink), games are 6 vs. 6, player changes on the fly, no offside, pass the ball off the boards, and lots of opportunities to score. It’s an exciting game with minimal stoppages. replica taschen

Important Information

Facility Pass

Note that games and practices take place at Edmonton Soccer Association Facilities. Spectators/parents will need to purchase a facility pass from the facility to enter for games and practices. For information about season passes or daily rates, please refer to the ESAF website.

Season start date (tentative)

Saturday October 19, 2024

Note that game start times do rotate weekly during the season. Season schedules will be released on October 16, 2024, after 5pm and posted on the EMSA website.

The regular season runs until the end January. U11-U19 teams that qualify for City Finals the season is extended into February. U13 – U19 Tier 4 teams that qualify for ASA Provincials the season is extended into March.

EMSA ID Cards

Players in ages U13 to U19 require an EMSA issued player ID card

Team Officials in ALL ages require an EMSA issued team official ID card

NOTE: Only Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) issued cards are accepted.

How to get an EMSA ID Card: Send a jpeg of a head shot (no hats; sunglasses) and a copy of ID (Alberta Health Care card; Birth Certificate) to emsa.ecarding@emsamain.com

Police Information Check

All team officials require a volunteer Police Information Check (PIC) certificate to cover the entire season, including post season play. The certificate must be requested through SWEMSA, as we cannot accept PIC;s completed from outside organizations.

Please note: Only Coaches, Assistant Coaches & Team Managers that have a valid PIC certificate on record with SWEMSA will be added to the team roster & may participate during practices and/or games.

Practices

Teams will be provided access to practices at indoor soccer centres and/or school gyms throughout the season depending on availability.

  • The U5 program is one weekly practice only, location TBD.
  • U7 to U11 teams will receive practices at either school gyms or indoor facilities based on availability
  • U13 to U19 teams will receive indoor practices (half field) and/or school gyms based on availability

SWEMSA holds a Joint Use Agreement with the City of Edmonton that allow teams to access school gyms and the availability varies. SWEMSA attempts to request time at indoor soccer centres for practices and this is based on whether there is available time after all League games are scheduled. Note that school gyms may not be in the neighbourhood your reside in. Generally they are located in South West and/or South Edmonton area.

Community League Memberships

A community league membership is required before a player will be confirmed on a team.  Memberships expire on August 31st of each year so you will need to purchase a new one for the 2024/25 indoor season.  This can be done directly through your community league, or through the Edmonton Federation of Community League web site. Please purchase your membership before registering for the season.
