Outdoor Soccer 2026- Community Coordinated

2026 Season Registration Opens Feb 1, 2026. The Outdoor program is coordinated by SW Community Coordinators. Program details

Anyone registering after Feb. 28 will need to contact their community soccer coordinator to be added to their waitlist. SWEMSA office does not process registration or payment for the Outdoor season.

How to Register for Community Soccer

Step 1: Community League Membership

  • You will need a valid, current Community Membership to register.
  • If you have already purchased one you will require the membership #.

Option to Purchase:

  1. EFCL.org/membership

Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) Memberships run from September 1 to August 31 every year. All players registered in the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) are required to have a valid membership. (1 per immediate family)

You must purchase your community league membership from the community in which you live, even if it does not have an active soccer program.

STEP 2: EMSA Portal Registration

All players are required to register on the EMSA Portal 2.0. This is a new system. Information from the previous platform will not be carried forward.

All player registrations are subject to all associated registration and refund policies. Please check with your community regarding their refund policy.

Volunteers: 1 per family, each season

  • The communities require one volunteer per family per season. Some communities collect volunteer bonds. This will be indicated on your registration form.

For financial assistance information, families are responsible for applying for funding with an agency. Please see the financial assistance page for information. Please ensure you have submitted your items to funding@swemsa.org or reached out to the office before Sept. 5th.

Supporting Documentation

You’ll need to provide the following supporting documents (instructions on how to submit documents is provided once the online registration is complete).

New Players to SWEMSA.

  1. Copy of the player registration form (for each player). if sending in by mail.
  2. Proof of birth (for each player):  birth certificate, passport, Alberta Health Care card or any other Government issued ID with a birth date and the player’s name.
  3. Proof of address which matches the address & parent name listed on the registration form: Driver’s License or current utility bill.
  4. Copy of Community League Membership for 2025-26

SWEMSA 2025 Returning Players

  1. Copy of Community League Membership for 2025-26 sent by email to upload.docs@swemsa.org

Important information

  • All players are required to be registered in the system in order to participate.  You must register under the community where you live. You can ask for a transfer when you register.
  • If you are interested in volunteering as a Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager on your child’s team, register that player first, choose the appropriate volunteer role and then complete a Team Official registration for yourself. If you are interested in volunteering on more than one team, you need to complete additional Team Official registrations. Please complete all sections of the Team Official registration & add in as much detail on age level & gender, player requests, who you’d like to volunteer with etc.  Helpful hint:  In order for the registration to be completed, you have to scroll through the whole waiver & mark off at least one method of communication.
